Pretzel & Buttons

In the last few months of 2015 I had the pleasure of doing a private commission of a mini children's book for a newlywed husband from his wife, to celebrate their first married Christmas. She wrote a story of their two cats traveling around the world, looking for their mom and dad. Of course, this was right up my alley.

I began with her words, planning out the flow of the book with tiny thumbnail sketches, then moving on to tighter pencil sketches.

The final art is watercolor on Arches 300lb cold press paper (my favorite at the moment). It was a joy to do this project, and I loved every minute of it.
